Well well!! what a fun packed week or so!!

Lets start at the beginning, let me tell you a story or 2. LOL

And what I want to know is who has managed two speeding tickets, not only in one day but within 1 and half hours of each other??

Yep you guessed it ME!! How cool is that.....

The funny thing is they could have sat at the same spot for the last 6 weeks and zapped me as it was at the bottom of the road where we were living and the sign going from 70kph down to 50kph is on the junction and(as one is a careful motorist) I usually concentrate on seeing if there is anything coming on the road, to this end I had never seen the speed for that stretch so they could have done me every day if they wanted a quick win!!

Bloody parochial pigs have nothing better to do all day except terrorise poor innocent motorists.

I shall post scans of the Infringement notices later, and I am requesting the photos so will load them up as i get them.


Decorating overdrive

So here we have the fruits of my labours over the week as a work in progress. Transformed from funeral grey to a more light and airy environment. I HATE GLOSSING OF DOORS, WINDOWS, SKIRTING BOARDS and EVERYTHING ELSE WOOD THAT HAS TO BE PAINTED! I begged the paint stripper fairy to visit and take it all away from me but no!! as per usual an 18 month waiting list for all things miraculous!

I never wish to see another can of gloss in my life

The Dogs Room

This is a great room that they have for themselves, especially when we go out or if they are wet and messy (So Simba most of the time!!) It is in the 'wet zone' next to the kitchen. Perfectly situated between the kitchen and utility room and bathroom, so it doesnt matter what state they are in they can dry off in there and also see what is going on through the glass door. I will post some photos of them asleep in there later.

And the Dogs room this morning after they have gotten up, and note, not made their bed, I hope you have seen they have their own little space heater!! They have just returned from the outside for their calls of nature and they are presently lying by the side of the bed while I am writing this.



The quaint coal range in the kitchen and still works too, so great for winter warmth and cooking



Now for the real laugh!!!

We have a slight plumbing problem as in a lack of hot water pressure to the shower, so as a process of elimination one needs to track these pipes to understand where the issue may be in advance of calling out the plumber to rectify said problem. Sounds simple enough!! thats what I thought too.....

So Paul is there being very logical

Goes outside to see where underneath the house they may go, so there we are peering under the house, alas no pipes!!

Paul says, 'i think i will take a look through the trapdoor under the sunroom, so I can see under the whole house.'

Stoppress - Quick Explanation - This is a crawl space as the house is built up on small stilts, so you can only crawl underneath the whole house

I say 'Good Idea'

We head off to sun room and lift up trap door, Paul peers in.......

I say 'Well go on then'.

Paul baulks at this stage, having seen the spiders webs.....

Stoppress - Quick Explanation - Paul turns into a right girly over spiders!!! Hell they arent my best friends either, but he is really chickenshit over them! LOL

So this is the end result!! I have the pleasure of a face to face encounter with 'William Whitetail' and 'Katy Kataipo' (NZ's resident nasty spiders)









This was then followed up by a hazardous trip up onto the roof to get into the roof space, and more spiders!! Paul did join me for that expedition however, but had a hysterical fit over a spider he saw, allegedly it was the size of a saucer!! Yeah right!! he killed it so i didnt get to see its size to confirm of deny this!

I had to overcome my fear of going down ladders however! but believe me i was a lot more mature about this!

I shall allow Paul to post his side of the story as it would only be fair!

Thats it for this morning, i shall take some photos of the finished interior of the Living Room and Bedroom and load them later, i shall also update you with some other antics of yesterdays activites.
