Gnomecide!

Is it really that wrong???

So what did we get up to on Xmas day? Well as you can see.........

We opened all our pressies in bed and look what happened!

For all those 'anti gnomes' you will appreciate the sentiment!! So we intend to expand on our catalogue of 'Gnomecide!'

Will keep you posted on the next victims cause of death....

So after coffee, croissants and presents in bed, we finally deign to get out of bed and take the hounds for a leisurely stroll along the beach. So dogs bundled into car and 10 mins down the road we arrive at the beach.

Well i couldnt believe how busy it was, normally i see no one, but loads of folks were out walking their dogs or surfing today..... Ok slight exageration maybe around 10 people, but hey thats a lot in my mind!

So here are a few piccies of the boys.

Well after a couple of hours it was around 1pm so we return home for Gin and Tonic in the garden and to put the turkey on.

Well all the rest of the days adventures will follow in my next post...

Oh and dont forget to catch up with Merlin, Dessies and the boys heres the links for a nudge!

24 December 2006

So a brief update on non animal related stuff we have been up to

Paul has been doing his belch, fart, grunt type chores, involving man toys such as electric drills being used as screwdrivers - because? - oh they are there and because he can!! (A man thing i guess!!)

So here you are here he is in action!

He did create a masterpiece (with my design input however) in the way of the garage/shed/falling down car port type thing by doing something in the way of stabilising it and we put on a side of bamboo screening with a tarpaulin on the inside of the bamboo as waterproofing.

We even resurrected the huge MDF monstrosity and the drawers of the waterbed to use as shelving in the garage!

I will add the photos of this later as i am quite proud of our Friday afternoon efforts!!

Considering we were only going down into the car port to transfer all the rubbish into the Ute to take to the tip!! Now for those of you who know me well you will understand me when i say the following words

I have a vision!!

This will only take five minutes!

If you do this and this it will achieve this and it is only a quick job!

Well this was one of those moments...... and as it was such a raging success

I now have a NEW VISION!!!

And Paul is about to start on it! He sort of knows about this.... well a brief outline perhaps......!!!! It wont take long i am sure!!

Stay tuned over the next day or so to find out about the next great idea of mine, oh and all about our trip to the tip....

Needless to say ...................... The Ute did not come back empty!!!

Oh and there is more!!!

But till later!! XX

So what we been up to this last week or so?

Apart from damage limitation from the demon monster in our home, which involves the following activities on a five minute basis.

  • Rescuing the Xmas Tree
  • Protecting large wet snouts from flashing flick knives
  • Protecting own skin from scaling exercises up legs
  • Extracting demon from the very expensive and nice voile panel curtains
  • Ensuring said demon doesnt get in the fire (this concerns me slightly his fascination with fire is very satanic!!)
  • Holding 'time outs' between snotty tabby cat and the demon baby kitty
  • Ensuring there is no flick knife sharpening on the new leather sofas
  • Stopping the little monster eating everything from our food, Dessies food and the Dogs food. He struggles to understand the word NO!

And on it goes

Remind me why did we get him???

Ah yes i remember he was cute and cuddly and loving in the shop

So apart from the damage limitations we have been getting ready for xmas, and sorting the house and garden out a bit more. But i shall give a more detailed update in the next posting.

But here are some piccies of the demon monster in action!

KIWI PHRASE - RAT ROLL (UK translation: Uh OH! - Hexy translation: Bugger!!)

My days as a 'Lady of Leisure' 'Lady What Lunches' and 'Kept Woman' are numbered!

Went to immigration on Thursday to apply for work permit and visa, armed with every possible bit of paperwork they could possibly want. So there i am smugly and comfortably thinking 'well coming up to Xmas, the process generally takes two weeks, so then add in the 3 week shutdown over here till mid January, i am relatively safe in the avoidance of working till at least february!'

Well serves me right i guess......................................................

They only approved my application straight away and i picked up my passport all stamped and everything yesterday (Friday) How efficient is that!

So Paul wasted no time in advising me on where to look for jobs! LOL

Next stop is the residency application, which which requires a certain amount of 'negotiating with myself as the medical itself requires poking, prodding, needles and the such, which at the very least i dislike intensely and at most turn into a complete screaming crone!' Think we will cross that particular bridge after xmas!

Just dont ever let anyone try to convince you that you wont be happy not working and that you will get bored. I can totally refute that arguement! It is great! and i am always busy doing stuff so not getting bored at all (even do ironing on occasions!!). And i havent watched one single minute of TV during the day nor read one single book. (Read previous posts to understand why i no longer like or even can face seeing books! I am suffering from bookaphobia, hardbackitis, tomeectomy, novelaplegia, encyclopeditis to name just a few of my current maladies)

Been busy in the garden this week, planted up and made the verandah and deck a nice seating area for when summer eventually arrives!

Also started doing some work yesterday on a Marketing/Business Development Plan, albeit voluntary but will give me some credance over here for when i start looking for work seriously.

I am also still writing my newsletter articles for Julian Graves so should start getting paid a small amount for those soon.

In all seriousness i am hoping to find a few part time options that returns a half decent above min wage salary as i dont want my work conflicting with Pauls as he has to be flexible on the days he works so when he is working a weekend (of which he has worked as many as not since have been here) we can at least spend time during the week together. I am also not sure what job i actually want to do yet!

Anyway here are some piccies of the garden and deck for the mean time i shall just carry on 'being creative' on the home! Maybe i can be the next Kirsty Allsop crossed with Trinny and Susanna for houses as my new career!!

Till laters

30 November 2006

Wolfie just wants it to be known that it is not only Simba that goes out there!

This was our trip out to Blueskin Bay yesterday, and Wolfie and Simba did lots of stick chasing.

27 November 2006

And then there was hail stones!

Well well well, after a lovely sunny day we get hail stones the size of marbles, so I ask you where they come from and who ordered them!?!

The one thing i am struggling to understand is the weather here. If you think ole blighty is bad, then 'hello' wake up here!

No word of a lie one day i woke up to a beautiful summers day and 24 degrees, cool, pukka stuff i thought, so dressed to impress for a days retail therapy off i trot! big mistake, huge!!

2 hours later it was 8 degrees, biting wind and sleet. 'Hello here! where did that come from? I ask!' And so I have learnt now to take a suitcase shopping so I can change attire accordingly. (believe me this is not a joke) My car has clothes for all weathers kept in it!

Even the dogs are struggling, 'should we shed our coats or should we keep them?' I hear them discussing it every morning!

Anyway a few piccies of hte hail stones, if you look at our path you can just about see the monsters!

And a few more antics at Otakou

Sundays Escapades at Otakou

26 November 2006

Todays escapades out at Otakou

As you can see the boys are having fun.

Simbas Creek

Simba viewing his very own creek, but has issues that it isnt big enough to wallow in. However we would prefer that it stays small and trickling as a torrent could be an issue.

Simba being the master of all he surveys!
And in case you thought that was all!

And theres more!!!

The garden stretches as far as the eye can see in these pictures, look over the fence and yep thats ours as well. A couple of sheep are called for to mow that lot i can tell you! As i dont think Paul is too keen on attacking that lot too!
